This LPA website is written by myself, Olivia Rowsell, because I must. It’s part of my course at the British school of Osteopathy. If anyone apart from my examiner or tutor happens to stumble across and endeavour to read this website, I shall explain it’s potential relevance to you. This page details my journey through my 4th and final year, some of the content will be more personal but some should, hopefully, include some lively medical study guides, links to clinical information, interesting articles and papers. Further more, as I am horrendously dyslexic and if you happen to be a visual learner, this may indeed be a one stop shop for you. I myself stumbled into osteopathy after a seven year career as a fashion assistant in London and Milan before suffering a quarter life crisis and a sudden desire to help people. I never looked back. If I were to pinpoint this turnaround in my career it would have to have been in 2006, in my 20’s living in a squalid flat in Camden with a load of F1 Doctors. After another 19 hour day on a shoot I came home in tears collapsed on the sofa next to my friend who had worked an equally long day in A&E. I lamented to her that my career was potentially over because I had called in size 7 shoes for Kate Winslet and she was a size 8, not a single shoe did fit her foot that day. My dear friend glanced at me and declared she had extracted a 9 inch implement from a gentleman’s bottom. It dawned on me, that somewhere out there, was life for me beyond shoes and dresses. This introduction could be more profound and academic but if you stroll into it’s depths i’m sure you’ll find some of that somewhere. Enjoy.
